Formation of Interaction Between the European Union and Eastern Partnership Countries in 2009-2016: the Case of Belarus and Azerbaijan

This study is aimed to examine the interaction between the EU and two countries participating in the Eastern Partnership initiative: Azerbaijan and Belarus. These countries have similar characteristics, but the interaction between them and the European Union differs significantly. In the course of the paper, the formation of patterns of interaction are studied and answers to the question about the reasons for the differences in the interaction of these countries with the EU are formulated.
